Welcome to the cool zone B)

Okay, so! Page one, in theory!

So, howdy howdy! Last time I updated this I said that I would actually have something to add soon, "Like, tomorrow, probably.". That was two weeks ago. This is because my stupid ass is currently too embarrassed to talk about my interests to actually use the 100+ webpage archives that I have saved in my bookmarks, so I made more work for myself by looking for even more websites, completely from scratch! :D

So, in honor of what this month is, I'm going to be looking into websites pertaining to LGBTQ+ things! Happy pride, y'all!

Also, as a forewarning, I have no clue what I'm doing! I'll probably change format things in the future, but for now I'm just throwing words and images on a screen. I'm gonna try to organize things by size and length if i can, and I might resize things if they're too big but other than that here we gooo!

oh, and content warning for the Q slur for anyone who's bothered by it.

Site #1

So, first off, we have Grrrlz II Womyn, which, in its header, states that it's to provide entertainment for the lesbian community. the last quote of the week that they left is "I don't mind straight people as long as they act gay in public.", which is probably now one of my most favorite quotes ever.

Next up, we have a table with various buttons linking to other parts of their website. Though some of these are redundant now imo (are webrings still a thing? i'm not sure that having a "chat" or a "travel" button would be useful today, either lol), but i'll upload them here in case you want them!

Here's a gay back button!

and here's a double-venus symbol, along with a gay @ found in the website owner's email at the bottom.

bonus: check out these old-ass amazon ads! they're unrelated to today's subject, but they're fun to look at in retrospect, lol.

Up next, i found this site called "flamespeak"! there's not much here graphics-wise nor anything that you wouldn't be able to find now on google, but I thought it was worth noting nonetheless.

Site #3

Here we have "Ant's Gay Pet Adoption Service"! This site isn't particularly gay, but...

there's a gay frog! the chemicals in the water worked!

plus, i just thought that the art on the site was very cute! Though, whatever it once did to allow you to adopt gay frogs doesn't work anymore, unfortunately. I haven't looked too far into it, but neither geocities.ws nor the wayback machine seem to support it. if you know something that could help, please email me! thank you! ^^

Here we have otago gaily times! this, like the title implies, is the site for a new zealand-based community newspaper, run by a small group of lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender people. They ran issues quarterly, coming out in early February, May, August and November. You can read their back issues from May 2002-July 2002 to November 2008-January 2009! I, myself, have not read any of them, so if there's anything iffy in them then I don't know. If you read it and want me to add a content warning for anything, shoot me an email and let me know!

this site also has some nice graphics and a source for them! I'll go into the website they came from next, but I'd like to upload the ones that I found from OGT first.

Site #5

So, if you looked at the last site, chances are you saw the note at the bottom saying "Graphics courtesy of http://www.geocities.com/shelia_66/"... which is where we'll be looking next!

Since there's a lot to comb through here, I'll just pick out some stuff that I like and let you look through the rest.

**Epilepsy warning for the "alphabets" page (as well as the "buttons 2" page), the letters are gifs that rapidly flash bright colors.**

Site #6

so for what i guess is our last site for today is...

... which now that i put it here i realize it really sticks out on my site because it is not transparent and i have a dark background. yikes! nevertheless, i thought using their header would be nead and as I am dedicated to my craft, and will keep it there. this page is messy and a little more will not hurt.

much like the previous site, this one is mostly for graphics, and also like the previous one, i'll go through and pick out ones i like because saving and reuploading them all would be a pain. anyways, behold! gifs n' jpgs!

... also, you'll note that these button sets are what the back button from Grrrlz II Womyn is from!

anyways, that's all for now, i guess? i feel like what i have so far is a good amount of webpage. i have no idea what subject i want to do next! or when i'll actually put it up! i'm still figuring things out, so maybe i'll have a consistent schedule at some point.
also, with this topic, I figure y'all can already tell my feelings on homophobia, but since it hasn't come up as much as that, I feel it's worth stating-- TERFs and other transphobes are absolutely not welcome on my site!! Trans people have been part of the lgbt community from the beginning, and still were back in the 90s and 2000s, as we've seen through the sites I've shown you today!! Go!! get out of here!! leave!! >:OOO
